Now that you have read the "Rules" and "Begin Here", you're ready to start filming. Here are a few tips for making a good music video.
- Start by choosing your music. Original music is great, but you could also use a royalty-free beat or a karaoke clip. It can be any style: reggaeton, hip-hop, rock, pop, r'n'b etc.
- Next, begin to write the lyrics of your song. Choose the 13 traits that you believe will be necessary to bring about change and include these in your lyrics.
- Before you grab your camcorder, try to come up with a timeline for the video. Brainstorm, and come up with some ideas for creative shots.
- Lighting will make a big difference in your video. Try lighting from different angles to give different moods and effects.
- Use an external microphone (one that plugs into your camcorder) for better sound quality. The built-in-microphone may not sound as good.
- Start recording five seconds before you begin acting/singing, and don't stop until five seconds after you finish, this will give you enough time to edit effectively.
- Film lots of footage, and don't turn your camera off between shots. You'll be surprised at how much footage you can use from between shots.
